| Introduction | My name is Melanie York. I was born and raised in Memphis, TN. I started my passion for design in my father's retail store when I was little. He owned a 50's furniture and accessory store. I spent a good amount of my childhood following my dad's love for design. In addition to owning a furniture store my father also reproduced fiberglass lampshades. At the time he was the only one in the country doing this. He has now sold the company and it is still thriving and going strong. This was just the beginning. I went to college for design and since have worked in many different areas of the design world. I have worked in freelance, furniture stores, as a visual merchandiser, buyer, and in structural areas such as flooring. I have a deep passion to want to know everything I can in the industry from colors to structural installation. |
