Introduction	"I submit that literature is made upon any occasion that a challenge is put to the legal apparatus by conscience in touch with humanity." - Nelson Algren.... During many years as an activist and organizer, I have had occasion to write articles for various publications. Here are the most recent results of those efforts. My intent is to uncover, analyze and question what's behind policies that impact the commons. I will continue to focus mainly on local politics, especially in Anoka County, MN. I will use a factually accurate approach to highlight the public as a stakeholder in the grand plans of the few. The public too often gets the back seat regarding taxes, property rights and quality of life. I've noticed a simple mechanism used repeatedly by denizens of smoke-filled rooms, to thwart public input: 1. It's too early; 2. It's too late. In short, there's no right time for the public to have a place at the policy table. Finally the question is, "What can be done?" This I will answer to the best of my knowledge.
