Gender Female
Occupation Retired writer who now blogs just for fun
Location Manhattan/Bronx, NY, United States
Introduction I'm a native New York writer who used to work for hire but had to retire (and a poet, too!) Freelanced on the side for several years for the New York Times Book Review, New York Newsday, and the Manhattan Resident. A dream come true--not only did I get to see my name in print, but I got (modestly) paid for what I loved to do, met and interviewed some great musicians in depth, saw and reviewed free concerts, saw bands in the VIP room, did cultural analysis and criticism, and got lots of free books and CD's. In a nutsehell--well worth it.
Interests New York City, real estate, gentrification, neighborhood change, how 'hoods become "hip, " Mayor Bloomberg, local and global politics, music, playing viola, cultural criticism, New Journalism, blogs, BlogCritics and other cool sites, analyzing my own craziness as well as that of others, having fun
