| Introduction | i like to make create new spaces and things that are pleasing to the eye. when i was a kid that meant i spent a whole lot of time drawing floor plans and imaginary worlds; when i went to architecture school that meant building intricate models out of cardboard and bass wood; when i went to work in architecture that meant finding ways to make an accessible bathroom and/or the common space of public housing attractive; when i went to grad school in planning that meant envisioning ways wonderful villages and towns in spain, the philippines, bhutan, and turkey could retain and bring out their specialness; when i went to work in city planning that meant helping american cities use planning to bring out their best—-their best natural resources, public spaces, local businesses and culture; as a jewelry designer, i use these experiences and create mini landscapes and pieces of art (at a much a smaller scale) for people to wear; and i help create homes people love to be in. |
