| Introduction | Papergirl was a response to the street art laws and prosecution of artists in Berlin, the project was founded by Aisha Ronninger and has been carried out across the world every year since 2006. It is for everyone, it's for exposure and being a part of something that has no other motive than sharing creativity with your community. It was a utopian moment. From that starting point Papergirl Bristol produces an exhibition each year to showcase all the participants who responded to the open call, employing a uncurated method in keeping with the key principals of Papergirl. This concludes with the distribution by bicycle of rolls of the artwork and fully realises a key Papergirl principal of leaving the recipient up to them what they do with the artwork. |
