Introduction	I am a journalist. And a single mom. We just moved back to the city. Fuck. We move a lot. I love photography, writing, exploring in nature and making creative stuff. Until recently I have split my time between the beautiful city that I was born and raised in, Vancouver, and the amazing place that is my true home (if home is where the heart is), Hornby Island. I worked as a nanny for over ten years before starting j-school and have tried my hand at many other things along the way but mainly I have specialized in childcare. I also volunteered with a local organization for years which took me to Brazil twice. This is a place where I share how I am learning to be a mom. Sometimes what I write is sweet and sappy. Sometimes I swear a lot. But just a warning: it's always pretty raw. Please also note that what I share here is my personal opinions and experiences from working in childcare and raising my baby. Nothing I write here is a reflection of any of my employers views.
