| Introduction | Lenny Epstein has lots of great ideas. As a student at Queen’s University, Lenny earned his BA(H) in Stage and Screen Studies. He acted in acclaimed theatre productions and award-winning student films. He also wrote and directed his own award-winning film, “Hitler’s Testicle”, and served as Head Writer and Executive Producer for the University’s weekly tv show. Lenny went on to get jobs in the film industry in Vancouver as director’s assistant and casting associate before writing and directing “The Great Upstanding Member” a 35mm short that premiered at Sprockets Toronto International Film Festival for Children. Lenny has since moved back to Kingston and gone on to make numerous films and videos including “Oy, It’s a Boy!” a comedy short for CBC which has found success at festivals all over North America, and an animated music video for Halifax folkster Jill Barber. As a producer, Lenny is in post on an edgy, collaborative feature “The Death of Canadian Indie Rock”. Lenny is festival director of reelout, Kingston's queer film + video fest, he sits on the board of Modern Fuel, the local artist-run centre and is a founder of The Artel, the city’s newest arts space. |
