Introduction	Married to my calm, cool firefighter husband, Darwin for 28 years. Mom to three kids--Adam, Hanna and Will. Adam and Hanna are all grown up. Hanna and her husband, Noah live in Minneapolis, where Hanna is in graduate school. Adam is a musician and is married to a great gal named Janelle, and they live in Cedar Rapids, IA. Will is 17 years old and is an avid guitarist. I've been writing children's books for a very long time ...though I howl at the moon sometimes about this career, I can't imagine doing anything else. I like kids a lot...they're infinitely interesting.

Favorite movies	Raising Arizona, Big Fish, Be Kind-Rewind, The Sound of Music, The Little Princess, Beauty and the Beast, Pride and Prejudice (recent, not PBS)School of Rock
Favorite music	Lots of alternative music pilfered from our music-inclined teen and young adults. I also like upbeat Latin, soulful Christian, and old timey folk music on occasion. Bruce Springsteen is always a favorite.
Favorite books	Too many to choose. Non-fiction is a magnet, but I try to balance it with some fiction, too. I loved "The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down", and "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks".
