About me

LocationLondon, United Kingdom
IntroductionWomen's Walking group set up in 2006 after a group of 16 of us met when I trained them to do a 38 mile walk for Breakthrough Breast Cancer. It was a 2 day walk through London, 22 miles the first day and 16 the next. We had great fun in training and everyone did the walk in style and we had a ball raising £32,000. When the walk was over everyone wanted to know 'what now' so the East End Girls team became the East End Girls Walking Group. There is a core of 6 members from the original group and we have added some more wonderful women too. We now regularly walk once a month and have done various long trails such as the Capital Ring and the Thames Path. We did a recording for BBC's radio 4 Ramblings programme in 2009 in the Lakes and 4 of us did the Inca Trail in 2007. We also completed one of the 20 mile pink Ribbon Walks in June 2009 and I've trained other women to do the Moonwalk and Kilimanjaro.
