| Introduction | Gabriella Boros was born in Israel. At age seven the family immigrated to the United States. Gabriella graduated from the University of Michigan, School of Art with a BFA in 1984. After graduation, she moved to Chicago and worked as a graphic designer for 16 years, 11 of them running her own design firm. Since 2001, she has devoted herself exclusively to her art. Gabriella has been included in numerous solo and group shows since 1986. In 2009, Gabriella will display her wood panel paintings at the College of Lake County in a two-person show. Her solo show in 2006 at Schopf Gallery, Chicago displayed her oil paintings completed in 1990-96. A solo show at the University of Illinois displayed 11 acrylic works on paper which describe a cinematographic style of narration. Recently, Gabriella started painting on wood panel. In addition to painting, Gabriella continues her exploration of drawing in pen and ink. Gabriella has been in numerous juried and group exhibits have been in Detroit, Ann Arbor, Indianapolis, Galesburg, Alexandria, LA, Rockford, as well as numerous shows in Chicago. She has shown in commercial galleries as well as museums and art centers. |
