| Introduction | A SURGEON ANATOMIST SPEAKS Dr Mark Amerasinghe MBBS(Ceylon), FRCS (Eng), Mch.Orth (Liv) was Head of the Dept of Orthopaedic Surgery, General Hospital Kandy, Sri Lanka, from 1961 - 1983. On retirement from the Ministry of Health in 1983, he proceeded to Penang where he was Prof Madya of Orthopaedic Surgery in the University Sains Malaysia. Returning to Sri Lanka in 1985, he joined the Dept of Anatomy of the Faculty of Medicine in the University of Peradeniya (Sri Lanka) During his tenure as Orthopaedic Surgeon, he was from 1962, Visiting Lecturer in Applied Anatomy, Clinical Teacher and Visiting Lecturer in Orhhopaedic Surgery, until his retirement from the University in 1999. |
