| Introduction | After playing bass in Metal/Punk band Z.P.G. and Metal band LUVROXX in the early 90s, Ray got a “real” job, a haircut and took a 15 year hiatus from music. But, in 2009, Ray dusted of his bass guitar and his dream of making music and formed the band Painted Doors. In January, 2010, however, he felt like a new artistic direction was in order; Ray decided to start over with a new band. After much input from his many friends and followers on social media sites about the new band’s name, Ray Wilson & The Texas Heat was formed. Infusing the energy of urban blues and the growl of southern rock n’ roll, the band’s eclectic sound is the product of a huge variety of influential musicians and is unique to the Texas Panhandle. Ray enlisted the help of many talented songwriters/musicians to produce some of the most soulful and acclaimed music the area has ever heard. Besides playing original music, the band also performs select covers of songs that reflect the distinct passion and heart for music. Ray also writes and creates music on the side and enjoys the freedom of creating whatever music "comes alive." |
