| Introduction | Elizabeth McLean is a 3D modeller, animator, and writer who lives in Hamilton, Ontario. She is a graduate of Sheridan College's animation program, where she specialized in character animation, 3D layout and texturing in Maya. She has worked as a modeller and texturer with University of Toronto's Mapping Ararat project, an interdisciplinary digital humanities project which constructs an imaginary Jewish homeland on Grand Island, New York using augmented reality technology, and as a layout artist on Mike the Knight and the Journey to Dragon Mountain, a straight-to-DVD feature. She is also the creator of Wor(l)d, a fantasy tale about literacy for viewers of all ages, but most especially those aged 3 to 9. Ms. McLean loves the process of Maya modelling, building a scene in Maya from start to finish and tackling the technical challenges along the way, storyboarding, and both 3D and 2D animation. She also writes and publishes fantasy, science fiction and horror stories, and has worked for fourteen months as creative writer for HitGrab Inc's popular Facebook apps Mousehunt and Levynlight. |
