| Introduction | My name is Nicole Rahim and I have been teaching children's art for over nine years. I used to teach in a private art studio in Georgetown, Ontario until I moved to Nova Scotia to continue my education at NSCAD University. I re-discovered my love of teaching after being offered the position to teach the children’s art classes at NSCAD University. Some of my students then continued to take lessons with me in my home where we have been able to focus on different materials and skills such as pastels, pencil drawing and papier mache. I continue to teach at home in my studio and also substitute at Armbrae Academy as an art teacher and work with the PAINTS program. I have also done workshops in several private schools in the HRM including Scared Heart Academy and Armbrae Academy. I believe that art is a necessity in a child’s life. It teaches them how to express themselves, be creative and most importantly gain confidence. I hope to bring a discovery and passion to the world of art to children of all ages. |
