Introduction | I've worked in publishing as an editor more than 44 years; the last 25 specializing in editing mystery and suspense novels. I've also written (often ghosted) 11 books and a game. DON'T MURDER YOUR MYSTERY is the Agatha Award recipient for Best Nonfiction Book of 2006, finalist for the Anthony and the Macavity, and a selection of the Writer's Digest Book Club. The all-genre edition, DON'T SABOTAGE YOUR SUBMISSION, won the 2009 Benjamin Franklin Award for Literary Criticism, best of show for the Florida Writer's Assn's Royal Palm Award, and a bronze medal for ForeWord Magazine's Writing Book of the Year. |
Interests | Counter to the popular notion that public speaking is terrifying, I actually enjoy giving workshops to writers. (Shortcut to itinerary: click the mic on writersinfo.info) |
Favorite Movies | The Sixth Sense, Fargo, The Illusionist, Amadeus. |
Favorite Music | Classical - all the traditional composers, though Schumann's Concerto in A minor always makes me stop whatever I'm doing while my heart soars. |
Favorite Books | Too many to name here; please see the bibliographies in Don't Murder Your Mystery and Don't Sabotage Your Submission |
