Introduction Adam serves as the Director of Professional Learning for the International Center for Leadership in Education (ICLE), a division of Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. Prior to his work at ICLE/HMH, he has served as the President & CEO of the United Way of Huntington County, as well as an elementary principal for nearly a decade. He has also served as a district professional development coordinator, technology integration specialist, and a classroom teacher in grades 1-5 and middle school Language Arts. Additionally, Adam has also served as an adjunct professor in the education department at Huntington University. Adam earned a doctorate degree from Ball State University. His dissertation topic focused on instructional leadership in schools that have achieved academic success in high poverty areas.
Interests Adam has presented internationally in Zhuhai Province in China, as well as across the country including Washington, North Carolina, Michigan, Tennessee, Indiana, California and in Maryland. Adam specializes in transformational leadership development, collaborative strategies, technology, Response to Intervention (RTI)--behavior, early childhood, classroom management, and literacy instruction. Adam has presented for the Indiana Department of Education, Indiana Association of School Boards, The Center for Effective Learning, Indiana Association of School Principals, and the National Association of Elementary School Principals. Adam is a certified trainer in Ruby Payne, Highly Effective Teaching, certification in Administrator Mentoring through NAESP. He serves as a mentor to new principals, and is actively involved in creating dynamic school cultures that focus on celebrating the whole child.
