The Sexualization of Women in Beer Advertising

Introduction	I am writing this blog about how women are sexually portrayed in the beer industry’s print advertisements. Women are sexualized in some beer industry advertisements, which give real women the wrong ideas about how their bodies should look and be dressed to be considered attractive in our culture. As a woman, it is important to know how our culture is portraying women because it can affect how women are judged for their appearances in daily life. As a college woman, I could be perceived differently in part because the beer industry can make men think women are sex objects, especially when they are drinking. By writing this blog, I will be investigating advertisements to find the prevalence and effects sexualizing advertisements can have. I will be analyzing print advertisements through a feminist viewpoint, while including an analysis of masculinity and race. Through posts and scanned print advertisements, I will be exploring how our popular culture sexually constructs women in beer advertisements.
