Introduction	"You're going to be working for a long time, so it's important to find a job that answers your heart. Remember that you'll also be asleep for one third of your life, so you should also invest in a really nice mattress." I heard this from my creative writing professor who used to spout off pithy remarks like he was a clay pigeon shooter. I have tried to let this piece of advice be my lighthouse--and it is in this spirit that I seek to find ways that I can make my academic career something that answers my heart. In this blog, I will be using some tools I’ve come across this past semester to indulge in a reflection on my goals for a project that is near and dear to me. This is my space to think about its potential for becoming a work of public scholarship.
