| Introduction | My favorite parts of teaching are the hugs and smiles I get from students every day which just makes me happy. Opening minds to new ideas and ways of thinking is my next favorite part, closely followed by sharing my love of books and technology and learning. I feel very lucky, honored and privileged to be a teacher because I love coming to work each day and I get to spend my day with children learning; plus we have THE most amazing staff. Do you want to know my least favorite part of teaching? Grading is awful, time consuming and never-ending until June. I much prefer to plan and prepare wonderful units and lessons to teach. I have been happily married for over 30 years to Mr. Standlee, and we raised three children: Jake, Brianna and Tucker. They went through the Kent School District, too. I have a son-in-law, Ryan Buzar, who went through the KSD schools, as well; and I have a daughter-in-law, Alex Molieri, who went to KSD schools for some of her education. And now we are grandparents to Easton and Brooke! Thanks for stopping by and I hope we often meet here. |
