Introduction	Samuel Griffin and his wife Mercy Bailey left Killingworth in the 1790s and moved to Essex, Chittenden County, Vermont. They had sold their holdings to their son Worden and made the move north along with their sons John, Samuel and Dan and daughter Mercy. Mercy and her husband Ithamar Pelton then followed the movement west ending up in Ohio. John and his wife Mary Tyler, Samuel and Abigail Bradley, Dan and Catherine Meriam all raised large families in Chittenden County. The purpose of this blog is to document the Griffins of Essex as well as follow the family of their grandson Albert Bailey Griffin who made the trek west to Utah.
