| Introduction | At this time, I'm not making many beads. Just a little jewelry here and there. Maybe that will change soon...maybe it won't! Either way, I'll try to update my blog from time to time! : ) After 17 years of working in the corporate world and being extremely burned out, I decided it was time to pursue a dream I had and do something I truly love. From this, Fira Marina was born. As far back as I can remember, I've always loved working with my hands to make small sculptures with clay or paint. More than anything though, I've always had a love for color and design. So, a few years ago I thought I would teach myself the art of lampwork. Since there weren't any classes in my area, I've had to learn everything through trial, error, and some really great experiments. Even though it's been a bit of a struggle to learn everything on my own, looking back, I wouldn't have it any other way. I feel this makes my designs truly my own, and my creations are always one of a kind. I am so grateful for this opportunity and I hope it always shows in my work. |
