Introduction John DeCuir, Jr. has designed feature films, and themed attractions in Europe, China, Japan, Canada, and the United States. In 1974, John took up master-planning work on Disney's World Showcase- EPCOT, specifically working on the key attraction, Space Ship Earth. He returned to film art direction in the 80's and 90's as art director on the film “Ghostbusters.” and Production Designer in on films such as “Top Gun” and “Sister Act II.” John continued to assist Disney in their film-attraction needs which included “Jim Henson’s 3-D Muppet Movie,” “Alien Encounter” and “Epcot’s Energy Pavilion where he contracted for both the design and set construction. In the 90’s Mitsubishi hired him to direct a six million dollar design program for a themed water park. Scholastically he has lectured as senior lecturer at the American Film Institute and taught at UCLA and USC. He received his Bachelor of Architecture degree, cum laude, from the University of Southern California and completed two years of graduate work at the Institute of Building Research and Technology USC. John is currently completing his book “The Architecture Of Illusion.”
