| Introduction | While walking in the park on a snowy Sunday morning in December of 2012, I had an inspiration. Why not combine three of my interests into one fun project -- ukuleles, photography, and visiting interesting places. I purchased a 16" spalted maple ukulele and named her Sal. I planned to spend 2013 going around Ohio taking pictures of her, and hoped that friends would join us on some of our mini adventures. I looked forward to encountering nice people and learning new things along the way. All of these things happened - and more - so I decided not to end the project at the end of 2013, as originally planned. Sal continued to travel until October of 2015, when we ran out of blogging steam. Now that lots of time has passed - and we've survived a pandemic - it's time to get out there again. Sal has designated a knitted rabbit named Sally to travel in her place in 2023. We hope this little bunny will have as much fun - and meet as many nice people - as Sal did. |
