| Introduction | I am a third generation native New Mexican and I have lived in Placitas since 1974. My father was born in Bernalillo, the town closest to this unincorporated village & my grandparents had a second home in Placitas before I was born. I was raised in Albuquerque and went to college in Tucson, Denver and got my masters degree in Santa Fe. I started construction on my own adobe home shortly after moving to Placitas. My husband, Placitas designer/builder Bob Poling, and I met during that time, and realized that both of our homes were of similar basic design and just a mile apart in the far northeast end of Placitas. We have been working together ever since, and raised our three daughters here. Before I went back to school to learn the real estate business and obtain a real estate license, I was an art therapist in private practice in Albuquerque. Before Bob retired, we collaborated on his designs for clients. We have been contributing to the economy and beauty of Sandoval County our entire adult lives, and will continue to be committed to co-creating Placitas as an outstanding community, exemplifying the marriage of contemporary style with a warm southwestern essence. |
