Introduction	After years of fighting obesity, I chose on 9/08/09 to give myself another chance at life. The years of taking 18 pills and 2 insulin shots a day were over. I had gastric bypass surgery (thanks Dr. Ganta!) and started my new life. About a month after my surgery, I started dating a wonderful woman, Jina Teas. We moved in together at the end of November of last year. Since my surgery, I have committed myself to endurance athletics. I completed the San Antonio Marathon on 11/14/11 and the Shiner GASP Ride (98.5 miles) on 5/7/10. Later in this year, I plan to run a second Tough Mudder, be part of a team for the Capital to Coast Relay (223 mile run from Austin to Corpus Christi,) and complete my second marathon in Washington, DC on 10/30/11. I am a proud member of the Bariatric Bad Girls Club (yes, I am a guy!) I am still a foodie. Just because the portions are smaller doesn't mean the meal isn't fantastic! I love to cook at home, and love to have friends over for dinner... the invite is always open so come on over...
