| Introduction | I was born in Curacao, West Indies and moved to Holland with my parents when I was 3 years old. We moved to California in 1964, and when I moved to Santa Barbara in 1976 I was able to pursue my dream of becoming a surfer. I already loved photography, but my brother gave me his old SLR camera with a telephoto lens and I started taking pictures of surfing at Rincon. I was often torn between surfing first or shooting first. In 1993 I moved to Maui and continued surfing and taking pictures of surfing. I love shooting big surf and I love the beauty here. Update: Moved back to Santa Barbara in 2015, continuing surfing and playing music. My band is called The Wrinkled Teenagers. |
