Introduction | I've been spinning yarn ever since a wild angora goat wandered onto my homestead in the hills west of Ukiah, California. We had just moved up there, so the goat was our first 'farm animal.' I had a friend show me how to use a spinning wheel, then bought my own and practiced until I could do it. I had studied painting in art school, but soon found that fiber was my medium of choice. I've now been selling my handspun hats at craft fairs in the San Francisco Bay Area for about fifteen years. I put up my own website about six years ago. I still spend as much time as I can up in the country, even though I can no longer live there full time, and this is where I get my best inspiration. My first posts in this blog show photos of my cabin in the hills, which is off the grid and was framed with poles cut on the land. |
