Introduction	I love that first breeze in late summer when you feel autumn coming. I love the smell of the first snowfall, the sight of sunlight on the pine trees, the exuberant beauty of the flowers in summer, the radiance of the sunset over the mountains, the frost on the fallen leaves at dawn. I miss the fresh apple butter, the brilliant maple leaves in the fall, and the homegrown bluegrass music of my native South, but I love the wide-open plains and independent attitude of my adopted home. I'm equally fascinated by the newest digital photography technology and by the family stories and recipes going back more than 100 years.
