Introduction My world shifted on it's axis when I was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease at age 54. Within a week or so of my diagnosis, I started boxing at a local Rock Steady Boxing Program. When my neurologist started talking to me about brain surgery, I decided I was going to do everything possible to get healthier before considering this option. I stepped up my workouts even more, started seeing a functional medicine doctor and made some significant nutritional changes. Today, my faith in God is stronger than it has ever been, I am a leader in my Parkinson's community, I am an ambassador for PMD Alliance, I am a fierce advocate for those living with Parkinson's and I am healthier than I have ever been except for this one thing...Parkinson's Disease. It is what I have, not who I am.
