| Introduction | I retired in 2006 after forty years of pastoral ministry, the last thirty at the Immanuel Baptist Church, Nashville, Tennessee. This now allows me to devote more time to being an interim pastor, a writer, a teacher, a husband, a father, and a grandfather. Since graduate school I have had a special interest in systematic theology, and I am catching up on my reading. I audited a course on the theology of Karl Barth in the Vanderbilt Divinity School in 2008. I collect books, including many interesting editions of The Pilgrim's Progress, modern first editions, history, religion, and philosophy. Because I have too many books, I am also selling some books these days. I am interested in exploring the history of the George family, who came from Wales around 1800 and settled in Iowa. |
