| Introduction | Robin L. Coletrain, a native of Lake City, South Carolina, is an author and poet. Robin has always been drawn to the arts and the way it allowed her to express herself in different modes - verbal, visual, and written. Succinctly, it was the written world that inspired her the most. Writing became a very personal endeavor and she would write notes and poems on anything she could find, mainly napkins and found it to be cathartic. Robin’s debut book entitled Speak the Truth: Words, Thoughts & Desires is a seventy piece collection of poetry that conveys a sweet, sultry and soulful voice about life, love, friendship and career. Robin graduated from South Carolina State University with a B.A.in Political Science; Howard University with a M.Ed.in Special Education; and Capella University with a Ph.D.in Educational Leadership. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. Robin is available for interviews, book signings, speaking engagements, to facilitate workshops, and coach aspiring young writers.
