Introduction | Armstrong is the Founder of the Primed & Prepped: A Hospitality Management/Culinary Arts Mentoring and Job Training Program at the YMCA. The program introduces young men and women of color ages 14-19 to a multitude of career opportunities, trainings, and professional resources that leads to meaningful employment in the Hospitality Management/Culinary Arts industry. Armstrong’s over a quarter of a century works has been distinguished by creating or improving businesses and non-profits. She has served in many capacities including: Interim Volunteer Manager for the American Red Cross, Program Director for the American Heart Association’s Heart in the Black Community Program, a consultant for San Francisco Renaissance Entrepreneurial Center, Public Relations Director for the Plant Recording Studios and as the Community Relations Director for Faz Restaurants. As a business owner and the founder of Artist Development/Imagemaking established in 1988, Armstrong enjoys helping people “be their best, by looking and feeling their best” in body and spirit. She also teaches Personal Styling/Image Consulting at City College of San Francisco. |
