Introduction As a literature teacher, I try to find the stories that my students will remember for a lifetime. As a writer, I search for what's missing on the shelves and figure out how to create a story that will fill the empty space. Over time, I've realized that sometimes the most important stories come from within us and stretch our imaginations to limits we may never have thought possible. Whether an experienced writer or a novice with their first journal, a small seed of a story put to paper can blossom and grow into an amazing new and "novel" idea. The genres that fill my shelves range from scientific journals to picture books and almost anything in between. I have notebooks covered in doodles, references, magazine images and character studies. My goal is to ultimately inspire others: to be creative, to dream big and to find a sense of peace in the world around them. When I'm not teaching, you will find me writing at my computer (or with a colorful pen and spiral notebook), working as a volunteer in my community or lost within a good book. ~A great idea is always budding!
Interests My world revolves around story. I teach literature, I write children's fiction and creative nonfiction, and I read every chance I have!
Favorite Movies I love Sci-Fi. I wanted to be an astronaut when I was young, and outer-space has always had a special place in my heart. I can always be convinced to watch a good adventure movie or one that pulls on my heartstrings too!
Favorite Music Techno-pop keeps my heart pumping! Woodkid, dance music, Moby, and TMBG are a few of my favorites. (And all things 80s of course!)
