Why does the color blue mean raspberry-flavored?

I would have thought it would mean blue berry flavoured! It does in Ireland anyway! Raspberry flavour here is depicted in a dark red. Not to be confused with its light red cousin, Strawberry. That can be a very disappointing mistake. :(
