| Introduction | I grew up in the metropolis of Burnsville, Minn., as a diehard Packers fan, learning early on why certain organizations win (live well, Favre) and others never have a chance (the Bills aren't the only ones to lose four Super Bowls). Thanks to the Viking faithful's constant needling throughout my tender years, I take criticism in stride. It makes writing a fearless art. I took my passion for writing to USC, where I covered Pete Carroll, Mike Garrett and the overpowering underachieving Trojans sports machine for the student paper. The highlight? Having a pissed off reader tell me to sack up and stop sniffing Pete Carroll's jock strap. Mmm, smells like roses. |
