| Introduction | My interest in food started as a youngster watching and helping my mother in the kitchen. Now, I find myself down right pre-occupied with food at times. I love to collect odd spices and vinegars but mostly I collect salt. I have about 20 varieties, mostly gifts. They will be making an appearance here soon. As a perpetual student (or so my parents were beginning to think) I used to joke that my ‘next’ degree would be in the Culinary industry. But I’m not so sure I’m joking anymore. I reside in California’s capitol, Sacramento where I recently purchased my first home, a 1918 bungalow where I live with two busy Chihuahuas, Mija and Butch and a very patient roommate, Mike. I am lucky to have many good friends living within a 2 mile radius of each other. This overjoys me as my friends are very important to me and I love to ‘take care’ of them (although they can take care of themselves I suppose). I like to spend my free time cooking, hanging out with my feisty pups, sitting on the porch with sundry awesome people I love, watching copious amounts of netflixs and working on my house (the porch time sometimes impeeds progress). |
| Interests | Food delicious food, salt and all the other lovely herbs and spices, making food for my loved ones, growing my own food and herbs, wine, beer and other delicious cocktails- particularly vodka gimlets, food preservation, my new stove ‘Julia’ and refrigerator ‘Paul’, dining en plein air. Interests not related to food- My family and friends, renovating my house, playing with Mija and Butch, designing my garden, native plants (well ALL plants, mostly), drawing, painting, sewing, making cool stuff in general, embryos, traveling to just about anywhere (as long as there aren’t snakes) porching it, waving at neighbors, flirting with dogs and babies, making funny faces and voices. |
