About me

Gender Female
Interests There was a time when the first word I would have used to describe myself was "poet." My work was published in "Poetry, " "Chicago Review, " "Shenandoah, " "Songs for Our Voices: Award-Winning Poetry on the Jewish Experience, " and "Lifecycles: Jewish Women on Biblical Themes in Contemporary Life." Eventually, other words began to describe me, as well: "mother, " and "teacher" and "communications director, " and poetry receded to make room for those roles. Then last year, with my youngest going off to college, I began--more as a discipline than anything else--to write about the weekly Torah portion, or parasha. These poems are the result.
