Introduction | The Stem Cell Sentinel, formerly Ben's Stem Cell News, is a blog published by Ben Kaplan, a stem cell activist with professional experience in public relations and biotechnology. He has been closely following developments in the field of regenerative medicine since May of 1998. In 2008, Ben was honored by the Genetics Policy Institute, a non-profit organization that promotes cutting-edge medical research, with its Grassroots Advocacy Award, presented at the World Stem Cell Summit held in Madison, Wisconsin. In 2004, Ben was featured in a TV segment for Proposition 71, the California Stem Cell Research and Cures Initiative, and in 2007, he appeared in a segment on stem cell research aired on Current TV. He serves on the Editorial Board of Regenerative Medicine, a bi-monthly, peer-reviewed journal focused on scientific developments in the field of regenerative medicine, and the Strategic Advisory Board of the Genetics Policy Institute. He created the Stem Cell Sentinel to serve as a single site that chronicles and compiles the latest stem cell research and science news. |
