Introduction Fifty something American with a passion for English narrow boats, canals, and one certain spectacular Englishman.
Interests Laughing 'till it hurts! Entertaining friends and family; turning others on to good food, books and movies, baking bread, painting, writing, sharing nature with my grandsons and watching their amazement, dancing, collecting good sentences and new words, organic food and gardening, and the vain and hopeless attempt to satisfy my immense curiosity about everything! History, films, music, cooking, baking, laughing, star gazing, sewing, dancing, painting, swimming, wild crafting herbs, medicinal herbalism, narrow boats, English waterways.
Favorite Movies Cinema caveat: movies must appeal to my sense of humor which is smart, dry and sophisticated. I loath slapstick, teenage boy, and "dumb and dumber comedies, and cannot stand mean humor at the expense of someone else. I enjoy foreign films. THE List: The Matchmaker, Kinky Boots, Saving Grace, Waking Ned Divine, Must Love Dogs, Love Actually, Return to Me, Love Song For Bobby Long, Always, Widow's Peak, The Rock, 2000 Miles to Graceland, The Usual Suspects, Aeon Flux, G.I. Jane, Billy Elliott, Love! Valour! Compassion!, Windtalkers, Then & Now, American Dreamer, The Italian Job remake, and The Thomas Crown Affair Remake, The Matador, The Tailor of Panama, Robin Williams Live on Broadway, anything by Richard Pryor, Under The Tuscan Sun, Tea With Mussolini, Mostly Martha, Dear Frankie, Stardust, Because I Said So, The Wedding Date, The Illusionist, Proof (With Gwyneth Paltrow and Anthony Hopkins) Elektra, Daredevil, Shadowlands, Calendar Girls, Mystic Pizza, Beauty shop, Take the Lead, All Harry Potter, X-Men, Lord of the Rings, and Indy Jones movies.
Favorite Music Music caveat: The Beatles are the pinnacle of musical evolution; Nina Simone is blues and jazz non pareil; Marianne Faithful and Janis Ian sing my life--and they can destroy my soul with their blues and rebuild it again; Beethoven and Led Zeppelin are in a class of their own and one should listen to them by lying prostrate on the floor of a darkened room with headphones on and the audio cranked as high as you can take it. I like Everything from STRAIGHT AHEAD JAZZ; CLASSIC HARD ROCK; CELTIC music such as Nomos, Runrig, Wolfstone, Niahm Parsons, Kathie Ryan, Connie Dover, Shoogelnifty, Enya, Dougie MCclean and Capercailie; I like the GENX sounds of Yael Naim, Stone Sour, Train, Snow Patrol, Green Day, Nickelback; Maroon five, Owl City; I like CLASSICAL: Mozart, Brahms, Lizst, Debussey, Satie, R.Vaughn Williams, Bernstein, Copeland, Gershwin. I get my news and lifestyle info from NPR: http://www.npr.org/
Favorite Books I like Sci/Fi Fantasy, historical fiction, anything fiction or non—about the Plague; I like bio’s and autobio’s of actors, musicians, mountain climbers, ocean going adventures, wilderness experiences, survival stories, applied science and scientific theory, stories of life in other countries and cultures. I have been keeping a list of all the books I've read for pleasure since 1993.

What's the most amount of sand you've ever had in your swimming trunks?

None--I swim nude.
