Location	Canberra, ACT, Australia
Introduction	I'm from Canberra, Australia and have either Systemic Lupus, or a rare autoinflammatory disease and also have regular migraines and a passing out (sleeping) illness which is currently suspected to be narcolepsy. I brought home a Golden Retriever puppy, Knightley, nearly two years ago, who I was training as an assistance dog (also known as a service dog) for myself. About 10 months ago wee discovered the heartbreaking news that Knightley had extremely severe hip dysplasia and would never be able to work as a full time assistance dog. After several months searching for a different breeder of Goldens, I found Apollo who came home with me in November last year. He is growing up quickly, and has proven himself to be a natural alerter and a very affectionate puppy. It is not common to train your own assistance dog here in Australia but I certainly have some experience now! Thanks for reading and enjoy your stay.
