Introduction As former Director of the Time-Life Photo and Digital Image Lab, Hub had the good fortune of working with some of the world's most prestigious photojournalists and fine art photographers as well as the industry's most gifted traditional and digital technicians. Most recently, he was the Pro Photo Business Development Manager for Hewlett Packard's new line of professional photographic pigment printers. Before Hub's years at Time, he was the Manager of Caterpillar's Image Lab where all the photography and graphic arts production was conducted for the company's worldwide sales, marketing and training departments. Now living in the Portland, Oregon area, Hub authors several photographic educational blogs, lectures, frequently judges photographic competitions and never stops honing his photographic skills. **** Unless otherwise noted, all material presented here is copyrighted, Hubbard Camera, LLC.
Interests I have been hopelessly hooked on photography ever since college when I changed my major from Psychology to Photojournalism. What else would you have expected from a child of the 60's? My greatest joy comes from teaching new photo enthusiasts and seeing that moment when it all makes sense and the light comes on. As you would expect, my hero is Ansel Adams, and his concepts are the basis for most of my teaching in the new digital environment. I'm sure that if Ansel were still alive he would be on the cutting edge of the digital imaging revolution.
