| Introduction | I am starting this blog as a way to express some of the emotions that I feel on my journey to healing from an abusive childhood. I am a 29 year old wife, and mother of two. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am so grateful for my testimony of a Father in Heaven that LOVES ME! I was sexually abused by my stepfather, off and on, from the age of five to I think about eleven. I just started seeing a therapist again after a three year hiatus from any sort of counseling. I married my wonderful husband when I was twenty-one. I had never been to counseling prior to our marriage. My husband encouraged me to talk to someone, and I began seeing a counselor. I saw her for two years, and stopped going about a year after I had my first child. I thought I was CURED!! Never again would I feel worthless, ashamed, or depressed! I was wrong. Two years of counseling once a week was not enough to make those years of abuse just go away. DARN IT! Sooo, here we go again! |
