Introduction	Thirty-eight years ago, a group of eight graduate associations whose members were local and overseas returned graduates, motivated by national pride and a commitment to society and community, rallied together to form the Alumni International Singapore, with the aim to support the national building efforts of this young country. Mr Lee Kuan Yew (then Prime Minister, now Minister Mentor) was invited as Guest of Honour to the AIS inaugural dinner held in 1969.
