| Introduction | Hello. I am a new educator! I recently graduated with my bachelor's in Elementary Education from Western Governors University. I am now pursuing my master's in Curriculum and Instruction at Liberty University. My husband is on active duty in the U.S. Army. I have two boys and two English Springer Spaniels. |
| Interests | One technology that I have enjoyed using in the classroom is iReady or similar assessment and instruction programs that allow teachers to apply data to their instruction. I also like using technology that allows you to communicate with parents, such as class dojo and kinvo. Involving parents in their child's education is important. During the beginning of covid, I was a paraprofessional in a kindergarten class. Our class was virtual and I enjoyed using Google Classroom and Google Meet to teach my students. I learned to use sites with manipulatives on the screen to help students count. During my time as a 3rd grade Social Studies/Science teacher, I used sites like Kahoot! to make learning fun while also informally assessing students. It's a great way to see what they have learned and to inform your instruction. |
