About me

IntroductionWhen I was young I would be riding across the causeway with my parents and see all the boats on the river and I would think, one day I will be out there... well I took a hobie class in college and hooked up with a wackoo gentlemen who had just purchased a hobie 18 with no previous knowledge of sailing ~ we became fast friends in the school of 'hard knocks' on the hobie. By the time I left for New York to finish my degree, I had a great working knowledge of the wind and how easily it can knock you over. I spent summers on Long Island working as a bartender and first mate (sometimes both at the same time) before I moved to LA. Tried paddling out there but didn't like it much. Had two kids (really took the wind out of my sails for awhile). Moved back to Florida and lucked into the foredeck of one of the sweetest boats ever made. This is a windsurfer but bigger, fast light and so much POWER. You have the best of all worlds... get blown over on your ear like a hobie, sail fast like a windsurfer and have storage for sails and the pink bucket like a monohull. Love the saltwater therapy!
