Introduction I was raised in Quincy, FL, the son of William Harold “Billy” Dean. My dad, a very talented singer, played in a band at the American Legion Hall so I grew up with the role model of a man who could have made it in music but chose to put his family first. The example my father set has stuck with me. At 20, I moved to Nashville to try my luck in music. About that time, my father died of a heart attack. As a tribute to him, I changed my name from Harold Dean to Billy Dean. With the new name and identity came hit song after hit song. However, I was also losing touch with young Harold who terrorized the neighborhood on his bike and idolized his father, the talented singer and family man. So, I began to redefine my role in the music industry. Touring was drawing me away from my kids, the most important things in my life, so I began to move away from performing. This decision led me to where I am today. I have helped aspiring musicians, such as Brent Rader and Clara Oman, produce CDs and find their musical careers. I have also helped companies, such as Averitt and SunKist, develop their brand through music. More importantly, I am there for my two kids and wonderful wife.
Interests Purpose driven music- music that tells a story, empowering aspiring singer/songwriters, writing music, playing guitar, singing, helping others craft their own songs, my wonderful wife and kids
