Introduction Son of Bernard and Betty Gillespie in Fairmont, WV. Married Cheryl R. (Kirkendall) Gillespie Dec. 28, 1974, who is a registered nurse and my best friend. Three children, Jennifer, Ethan, and Madison (a son and NOT a daughter). Graduated Apostolic Bible Institue in 1975; Winebrenner Theological Seminary in 1996; past candidate for Doctor of Ministry at Reformed Theological Seminary, Orlando, FL. Founded In Christ Alone! Ministries. Past Chaplain/resident at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Grant Medical Center, and interim manager of Pastoral Care at Dublin Methodist Hospital. Currently manager of Pastoral care with OhioHealth at Marion General Hospital. Planted a church in Findlay, Ohio, from which I retired after nearly 30 years. Interests My family, people (their concerns and the many journeys they take), theology (esp. anything that helps me understand the meaning of life), neuroscience and the human brain, Story and narrative, philosophy and religion, reading, percussion (drumming), history & other cultures, writing, golf, Dietsch's ice cream, biking, racquetball, photography, sports (Steelers, Penguins, Pirates & Lakers), coaching sports, music (many genres), Russia, technology (esp., Apple products), travel, Science, Schnauzer dogs (esp. one named Kolbe).
Favorite Movies Unbroken, Life of Pi, Amazing Grace; The Black Robe; Missionary; Luther; the Lord of the Rings series (whatever you may think of Tolkien's literature, he captures the imagination with biblical themes like few writers ever have)
Favorite Music Too much to list. I enjoy many styles...
Favorite Books The Bible first and foremost. I read Mark Nepo a lot. Henri Nouwen. Richard Rohr. Jonathan Sacks. Arthur Frank "The Wounded Storyteller, " "On Intelligence" by Jeff Hawkins. I love science fiction -- Dune series and anything by Frank Herbert and Brandon Sanderson.
