| Introduction | I began painting in 1989 while attending Truckee Meadows Community College in Reno, Nevada. I studied two years under Esteban Valle, a nationally recognized artist. While studying with Mr. Valle, my main emphasis was on learning the style of the “Old Masters” in the art form of chiaroscuro - strong contrast between areas of dark and light. In 1990, I won first place overall in oil in her first College Art Competition. In 1991, I won the second place award in oil in her second College Art Competition. My main topics of interest are wildlife, florals/still lives and portraits. I been commissioned to do portraits and family pets and specific subject paintings for interior design clients. I currently exhibit at local art venues and work on commission. |
