Introduction	How This Journal Came About: Maria and I met in Lamaze class and again in Mommy-and-me class. We were brand-new moms, isolated from our former work friends, and we needed support and companionship. We became good friends, and our three daughters became good friends, too. We both decided to homeschool, and when Maria went to work two days a week, I homeschooled her daughter along with my own. I thought Maria would want to know what we did in her absence, and so I began to write this journal. It only covers the two days a week that I had three “students” instead of two, but it's fun to look back on the journal, 20 years later, and think about “how it all turned out.”
