About me

Introduction	James King has been restoring and repairing historic structures since 1985. Originally based in Little Rock, Arkansas, he is now resides in southeastern Connecticut on a small farm established in 1690. He has done projects as both an independent contractor and as a Project Manager for some of the best restoration companies in Connecticut and Arkansas. Historic home inspection and consultation are a part of his experience, and he has traveled to do long term projects in Missouri, Texas, Tennessee, South Carolina, and Washington D.C. He began his career in building in 1977 and continues to do exemplary work in both large projects as well as small repairs. Using high-tech solutions and old-style methods as well as recycled historic fabric and hardware, he believes in devotion to history and individual craftsmanship. James believes in devotion to his clients as well as his community. His interests include hunting gemstones and minerals, stormchasing, playing acoustic music that bites back, and writing novels and articles. He sometimes winters in Arkansas, where the weather allows him to continue in his never-ending quest to keep historic structures alive and healthy.
